Then 32% Lead was added to create a better quality crystal that withstands cutting and engraving. A special metallic chemical coating is added to create a rainbow spectrum or many different colors. Origin: Swarovski is a well-known brand within the luxury jewelry business. Daniel Swarovski invented the formula for the crystals in the 1890s. Most Swarovski crystals are made in Austria.
