Jasper is a form of chalcedony, is an opaque, impure variety of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in color; and rarely blue. When the colors are in stripes or bands, it is called striped or banded jasper.
Healing ability: Wearing jasper strengthens stomach and cures gynecological problems.
Power: Leopard skin Jasper is said to bring one what they need. Poppy Jasper is said to help bring joy into life. Opalite Jasper is said to help one sleep. Jasper was thought to drive away evil spirits and protect against snake and spider bites.
Deposits: Urals, North Africa, Sicily, France, India, Venezuela, Germany and Arizona, California, Utah and Wyoming.
